La Makita Soma finish second album
5 April 2001

Chicago experimental/trance outfit La Makita Soma have finished recording and mastering their self produced second album, to be titled Brighton Park. It will come out for the US on Some Odd Pilot Records by summer in CD format, although Rockbites has learned that they’re considering releasing some remixes on vinyl.
The instrumental quintet of Todd Marek (keyboards), Derek Irvin (drums), Travis Stewart (guitars, vibes, trumpet), Dan Snazelle (keyboards, bass), and Mark Ludemann (bass, vibes, keyboards) will be playing locally (Chicago and perhaps Madison) soon, and may put together a US tour around the time of the album release.
You can pick up the band’s debut album Monkey Island (Abridged Records) from the SOPR store on their Web site. | La Makita Soma | | La Makita Soma on Some Odd Pilot Records | | SOPR store | | The Intern (full length MP3) | | top of page |
