Wheat announce details for third album

Wheat, the enigmatic Taunton, Massachusetts (near Boston) pop trio of Brendan Harney, Scott Levesque, and Ricky Brennan, have announced a few details about their upcoming third album. First, the band lineup for the new set, titled 'Per Second, Per Second, Per Second, Every Second,' remains the same as it was for their previous LP, Hope And Adams—a notable fact since up until that LP they’d metamorphosed a full dozen times.
    They’ve been recording once again with Dave Auchenbach (Leigh Marble, Rose Of Sharon, Purple Ivy Shadows, Difference Engine, Versus) over the past few months, and will soon mix the album with Dave Fridman (Mogwai, Mercury Rev, Flaming Lips, Sparklehorse, and the last Wheat album) and Brian Deck (Red Red Meat, Califone, Orso, Loftus).
    Wheat previewed songs off the new album at a one-off show in New York city this past weekend. Their third full length is tentatively set for a September release on a label yet to be announced; perhaps Sugar Free, their album label up till now. We’ll keep you posted.
    You’ll be able to catch Wheat live in June on tour with The Blake Babies (who reunited earlier this year with all three original members, and released a new studio album featuring Evan Dando, ex Lemonheads); and on a headlining tour around the time of the album release. | Wheat on Sugarfree Records | | discography | | sample | | top of page |
