Violet Indiana to release debut LP, tour Europe
18 April 2001

UK synthpop duo Violet Indiana (Robin Guthrie, ex Cocteau Twins; Siobhan De Maré, ex Mono) released their atmospheric 4-song debut EP, Choke, last fall. Roulette, their first album, is now set for an earlier-than-expected 30 April release in the UK on Bella Union, and for an 8 May release in North America on Instinct. It’s available immediately, though, directly from the Bella Union online store.
Tracks on the album are Air Kissing, Feline Or Famine, Sundance, Powder River, Little Echo, Angel, Poison Gorgeous, Hiding, Rage Days, Liar, and Killer Eyes. (Liar has been available on Bella Union’s must-have, and cheap, sampler CD.)
Violet Indiana plan to tour the UK and Europe in June. We’ll keep you posted. In the meantime, their Web page has two free QuickTime movies available, along with two MP3 song excerpts. | Violet Indiana | | Bella Union Records | | Liar (MP3 clip; registration required) | | discography | | CD | | top of page |
