Bad Friday for Frank Black & The Catholics
13 April 2001
image
Frank Black (aka Black Francis, born Charles Michael Kitteridge Thompson IV), is on a major North American tour with his band The Catholics supporting their recent album Dog In The Sand. Black became a victim of grand larceny early this morning when his equipment trailer was stolen from the parking lot at the Econolodge motel in Lester, Pennsylvania while the band was sleeping. The white 10' x 4' trailer held approximately US$70,000 worth of musical gear. Their Thursday show at The Trocadero in Philadelphia was just the fourth on a planned 35 city tour.
The band will miss tonight’s show in Washington and tomorrow’s in Pittsburgh, but plans to purchase new equipment and resume on schedule this coming Monday in Toronto.
If you have any information that might help the band recover the stolen equipment, call their label What Are Records? in Boulder at (+1) 888-281-1289, or send email to info@war.com. | Frank Black on WAR? | | fan site | | full stolen equipment list | | tour dates | | discography | | CD | | top of page |
