James to audition new songs in UK clubs, theatres 6 September 2000 Guitarist Saul Davies explained to nme.com why the stadium-friendly band have chosen smaller venues: Its a deliberate move on our part. Basically its come out of the fact that we started work on our next album and we decided we should do something we havent done since we did Laid, which is play the songs out on the road before we record them. The new album, tentatively titled We Want Our Money Back, will be produced by veteran James collaborator Brian Eno along with Stephen Street (Blur, Sleeper, Catatonia, The Smiths). Its tentatively set for an April or May release next year. Meanwhile you can still vote on which songs will be included on the upcoming James B-sides LP, now set for an early 2001 release (see our link). Here are the tour dates October 21 - Leeds (Leeds University) 22 - Liverpool (Royal Court) 23 - Edinburgh (Corn Exchange) 25 - Bristol (Colston Hall) 26 - Exeter (Exeter University) 27 - Poole (Arts Centre) November 2 - Blackpool (Empress Ballroom) 3 - Grimsby (Grimsby Auditorium) 4 - Norwich (UEA) 6 - Sheffield (City Hall) 7 - Nottingham (Rock City) 8 - London (Brixton Academy) | NME story | | James | | B-sides survey | | bio | | discography | | sample | | top of page | |
