Montréal experimental orchestra Godspeed You Black Emperor! begin a world tour 5 October at Toronto’s Bloor Theatre. They’ve just added a handfull of dates in London and Manchester—see below.
For the first four US shows they’ll be joined by seldom seen Philadelphia noise mongers Bardo Pond—who are working on a new album for release on Matador records early next year. Then on a North American west coast swing the openers will be experimental/minimalist composer and vocalist Jean Smith (of Mecca Normal, this time on a solo tour) and Mecca Normal.
Godspeed’s 1999 CD-EP Slow Riot For New Zero Kanada was released on vinyl in July on the Constellation label. You can get Bardo Pond’s new limited edition 10" Blurred from their Web site, or get the title track as a free MP3 (MPEG I layer 3) music file.
