Saint Etienne’s all too brief North American tour
29 September 2000

London ambient pop/dance trio Saint Etienne (Sarah Cracknell, Bob Stanley, Pete Wiggs) are back in the US for a tour supporting their current release Sound Of Water, kicking it off tonight at Chicago’s House Of Blues. They’ll play just eight midwest/east coast dates, closing with a pair of shows at New York city’s Bowery Ballroom with The Ladybug Transistor (who, we hear, will release a new studio LP next year) on 7-8 October.
Saint Etienne released Sound Of Water in the spring of 1999 for Europe and the UK but just this June in North America. Co-produced by Sean O’Hagan (The High Llamas) in Berlin with the help of members of German electronica band To Rococo Rot, the ten track set is a chilled-pop headphone delight.
Here the Saint Etienne tour dates
