Attrition return to US supporting remix CD
29 September 2000

Coventry, England darkwave/ambient/electronic composer Martin Bowes, aka Attrition, released the 13 track remix album The Hand That Feeds this past May in the US on Chicago indie imprint Invisible Records. In August, Trinity Records released it for Europe as a two-CD box set comprising the US album plus a best-of retrospective bonus disc.
It’s Attrition’s 12th album of fearfully lovely music, perfect for a night of dancing with animated bloodless corpses. Or for just getting creeped out in a very musically satisfying sort of way.
The album’s vaguely necrophiliac, monochromatic artwork is by longtime Bowes collaborator John Santerineross—who has used in his 'assemblages' a wide variety of found objects including his own blood, semen, and hair. The Attrition Web site includes a sampling of Santerineross’ work in various media.
The track listing for The Hand That Feeds is

I am a theif (intro) - Dance or Die remix
Cold Genius - Polaxe remix
Waste not, want... more - D.O.S. remix
Cosmetic Citizen - Stromkern remix
Lip Sync - IT remix
I am (Eternity) - Chris & Cosey remix
White men talk - Morbus Kitahara remix
The Mercy Machine - Attrition remix
My Friend is Golden - Regenerator remix
Acid Tongue - New Mind remix
The Second Hand - Mark Crumby remix
IAE - In The Nursery remix
Ephemeral - The Truth remix

Attrition are in the US now on their fourth and biggest-ever tour, playing tomorrow night in the Batcave at Downtime in New York city. The tour runs through 26 October. | Attrition | | tour dates | | Double CD on Amazon UK | | discography | | sample | | CD | | top of page |
