New York based singer/songwriter Stephin Merrit, aka The Magnetic Fields, will stage a special two evening performance of his epic triple-CD 69 Love Songs on 7-8 December at the Somerville Theater in Somerville, Massachusetts near Boston. Merrit and his touring band will perform the entire box set in order, split across the two nights. Tickets are on sale now from Ticketmaster—check our direct link or call 617-931-2000.
One of Merrit’s many other musical projects, The 6ths, released earlier this month an eclectic smorgasboard of an album called Hyacinths & Thistles, their first CD in five years. It features vocals by Marc Almond (ex Soft Cell), Sarah Cracknell (St. Etienne), Neil Hannon (The Devine Comedy), Miho Hatori (Cibo Matto), Momus (aka Nicolas Currie), Bob Mould (ex Hüsker Dü), and others.
At the moment Merrit is in New York working on soundtracks for no fewer than four film projects including James Bolton’s Eban And Charley, and Steve Cantos’ Endsville. | The Magnetic Fields | | 69 Love Songs concert tickets | | bio | | discography | | sample | | top of page |
