Frenchie And The German Girls tour & recording plans
27 September 2000

New Olympia, Washington quartet Frenchie And The German Girls—Jessica Espeleta (Love As Laughter) on guitar, sisters Maggie Vail (Bangs) on bass and Tobi Vail (ex Bikini Kill, Frumpies) on drums, and Jessie Frances on vocals—play a brief California tour this weekend before heading into the studio to record their debut tape to be released later this year on Bumpidee Records. They plan to release their debut 7" single for Kill Rock Stars next Spring.
As Rockbites reported last week, in between Jessica heads off to Europe for a tour with her other band Love As Laughter starting 4 November in Bolgna, Italy.
FATGG formed in late 1998. Maggie describes their sound (reluctantly) as reminiscent of Joy Division and The Wipers. No Web site yet, and absolutely no recordings available (MP3 or otherwise). But based on the band’s heritage and musical heroes we’re looking forward to some interesting music.
Here are the Frenchie And The German Girls upcoming California tour dates

September (with Serum Greys and The Lies)
29 - San Francisco (Kimo’s)
30 - Oakland (40th St. Warehouse)

October
1 - Santa Cruz (Big Bang festival)
