Placebo to release new album for free download

London power glam trio Placebo will make their upcoming album Black Market Music available for free download on 2 October, one week before its release date. You’ll be able to get the download from their Web site. On 9 October they’ll release the twelve track studio LP on CD, cassette, vinyl, and Mini Disc, along with a 5,000 copy limited edition CD with special packaging.
    Black Market Music’s tracks are Taste In Men, Days Before You Came, Special K, Spite & Malice, Passive Aggressive, Black Eyed, Blue American, Slave To The Wage, Commercial For Levi, Haemoglobin, Narcoleptic, and Peeping Tom.
    The album’s second single Slave To The Wage is due next Monday in the UK on 12" vinyl, cassette, and two CD versions. We’ve provided a link below to a full length RealAudio stream of the single’s title track.
    On 14 October Placebo start a five week tour of England, Scotland, France, Spain, Switzerland, Italy, Belgium, Holland, and Germany—check their Web site for details.
    London Webcaster virtuetv.com will host a live interview/Web chat with the band starting 6:00 pm BST (1:00 pm EDT) on 29 September.
    Meanwhile, Napster boosters The Offspring have apparently hit a snag with their plans to release their new album Conspiracy Of One for free download.
