Project K debut album announced
20 September 2000
image
Los Angeles art punk trio Project K finished their debut CD Testing Underway several months ago but were left without a distributor—and ended up touring the US in support of an album yet to come. Now Beck’s Bong Load Custom Records has picked up the CD for distribution and expects to release it next month in the US.
Project K comprise front man Greg K from The Paper Tulips and The Ray O Vacs, bassist Io Perry (whose “bass weighs almost as much as she does” according to the band’s Web site), and drummer Nick Scott from Masher, Puddy Jr., The Punk Rock All Stars, and Popdefect.
Project K haven’t announced another tour, and a couple of upcoming LA shows were canceled at the last minute when Io got hired on for a Tito And The Tarantulas tour. Rockbites will keep you apprised of upcoming Project K gigs. Nick Scott’s other band (well, one of his other bands) Popdefect plays Saturday in Portland at the NXNW festival.
The Project K Web site offers the album track Deep End in QuickTime and RealAudio formats. You can get other Project K tracks in various formats from MP3.com, from UBL, and from the Bong Load site. | Project K | | Deep End (QuickTime or RealAudio) | | Bong Load Custom Recordings | | North By Northwest | | bio | | top of page |
