The Sea And Cake return with Oui, major North Am tour

Chicago jazz-tinged post rockers The Sea And Cake are back after a three year silence with a new album and a two month US/Canada tour starting mid October. The quartet of Sam Prekop (from Shrimp Boat, on vocals & guitar), Eric Claridge (also from Shrimp Boat, on bass), John McEntire (from Tortoise, on drums & piano), and Archer Prewitt (from Cocktails, on guitar, organ, & vibes) released their last album back in April of 1997. Still with Thrill Jockey, the band release their new album Oui on 3 October in the US. There’s no announcement yet for European distribution, but fans across the Atlantic can get it as an import through Amazon UK.
    The tour comprises two legs: 17 October through 8 November playing with Chicago avant-garde minimalists Town And Country, then through 22 November with Birmingham, England ambient/experimental act Broadcast. Town And Country release their second full-length on 3 October, It All Has To Do With It; while Broadcast released their Extended Play Two EP today.
