Moncton, New Brunswick native turned Montréaler, singer/songwriter Julie Doiron aka Broken Girl plays a handful of US/Canada dates starting this Sunday at Rhino’s in Bloomington. The fragile voiced chanteuse also plays a pair of dates next month in Philadelphia and Boston. Her September shows will be with Shannon Wright and Ida.
Doiron’s Web site recently posted a full length live MP3 (MPEG I layer 3) music file of her B-side track Too Much, released in April on her Who Will Be The One single. You can get the single on 7" vinyl from Plumline Records, PO Box 213, Marysville MI 48040, USA.
Her next album, set for a 2001 release, will include a number of her songs both old and new sung in French. Her track The Longest Winter appears on the indie film Parsley Days, produced in Halifax and being shown at this year’s Toronto International Film Festival, on now. | Julie Doiron | | Too Much (full length MP3) | | tour dates | | fan site (with lyrics) | | bio | | discography | | sample | | top of page |
