The Dandy Warhols take 13 Tales to Canada, Australia
15 September 2000

Portland, Oregon psychedelic quartet The Dandy Warhols (sometimes quintet—they’re touring with multi-instrumentalist Troy Stewart) announced last week the next leg of a world tour with dates in Canada, the eastern US, and Australia starting 29 September at the Exit/In in Nashville. Most shows through 11 October in Toronto will be with San Francisco based guitar rock quartet Creeper Lagoon—who played a couple of new songs yesterday at the ChangeMusic SF Festival from their new EP Watering Ghost Garden, due 3 October in the US.
The Dandys are supporting their recent album Thirteen Tales From Urban Bohemia, a masterpiece of musical quotation in which they fuck with the styles of (among others) Iggy Pop, The Beastie Boys, Elastica, The Rolling Stones, Supergrass, and The Jesus And Mary Chain. The first pressing of the US edition of the CD came with a bonus disc including the tracks White Gold, Phone Call (also on the May 2000 promo Tales From Slabtown), and live versions of Not If You Were The Last Junkie On Earth and I Love You, recorded at the 1999 Reading Festival.
The News page on the Dandys site has brief MP3 samples from the Slabtown promo, including non LP tracks Lance (originally titled Retarded) and Kinky, along with alternate mixes of Godless and Shakin’. | The Dandy Warhols | | tour dates | | Creeper Lagoon | | bio | | discography | | sample from Thirteen Tales From Urban Bohemia | | CD | | top of page |
