The Softies release third album, announce US tour

Portland, Oregon dream pop minimalist duo The Softies (Rose Melberg and Jen Sbragia) release their third album this week, Holiday In Rhode Island. Another melancholy/sparkly internal soundtrack, it follows three years on from 1997’s critically acclaimed Winter Pageant.
    Holiday’s 14 tracks are Sleep Away Your Troubles, The Place We Go, These Sad Times, The Beginning Of The End, Just A Day, Me And The Bees, Holiday In Rhode Island, Favorite Shade Of Blue, You And Only You, Sturdies Bay, Saint Agnes, If You Stayed, Write It Down, and My Empty Arms.
    The Softies play four shows in Oregon and Washington state starting 27 September along with Microphones, Mirah, and Wolf Colonel. On 19 October they’ll play a showcase at New York city’s Luna Lounge as part of the CMJ Music Marathon, followed by a handful of shows along the US east coast.
