Howard Devoto, Pete Shelley back together—live Webcast

The Buzzcocks founding members Howard Devoto (born Howard Traford) and Pete Shelley (born Peter McNeish), who went their separate ways in 1977 (Shelley leading The Buzzcocks, Devoto forming Magazine), are back together and writing music. The collaboration marks the Mancunian punk/art rock legends’ first joint work in more than 20 years.
    Tomorrow (2 September) they’ll perform three or four songs starting 10:00 pm BST (5 pm EDT) under the interim banner buzzkunst during an edition of the Mute Records 'Irregular' showcase at The ICA in London. Tickets are £9 (£8 for ICA members) available from ICA and from Rough Trade Shops in London.
    If you can’t be there you can still catch the show via a live Webcast presented on Deo.com. To use their Web site you need Cookies enabled in your browser as well as having the Shockwave plug-in, and you’ll probably have better luck with Internet Explorer than with Communicator.
    This past winter Mute records reissued the Spiral Scratch EP and the Time’s Up album, the only Buzzcocks discs on which Devoto and Shelley both appear.
