Cat Power to tour seven US cities 26 October 2000
American experimental singer/songwriter Chan Marshall, a.k.a. Cat Power, starts a brief US tour on 7 November at Upstage in Philadelphia. See the dates below. Cat Power’s most recent album, The Covers Record, includes twelve low key but affecting interpretations of songs by Bob Dylan, Smog, The Velvet Underground, Moby Grape, The Rolling Stones, Chan herself, and more. Compare Cat Power’s version of Satisfaction to Britney Spears’ and be enlightened. (You’ve heard the rumor that Jagger likes Spears’ version?)
