Snow Patrol ready new single & album, UK tour
25 October 2000

Northern Ireland low-fi guitar outfit Snow Patrol will release their second album When It’s All Over this coming February. It follows their 1999 debut LP Songs For Polar Bears (a sly, up yours reference to US band Polar Bear, who forced the Irish Polar Bear to change their name—hence 'Snow Patrol'). NME said on the release of Songs... “...it sounds like every influential American band of the ’90s being chained, in turn, into a spin dryer and having brain-eating robot bugs drilled into their heads by a grinning Thom Yorke.” Songs For Polar Bears won the Northern Ireland Oh Yeah award for best album of 1999.
On 13 November the band release the first single from the new album, Ask Me How I Am b/w Command Of Cars and Talk To The Trees—available on CD only. Another new track, When I Get Home For Christmas, appears on the Jeepster benefit album It’s A Cool Cool Christmas, for homeless charity The Big Issue, out 20 November in the UK (see our story from yesterday).
Snow Patrol hit the road on 2 November for a four date Ireland/UK tour. On board will be additional guitarist Wags (Paul Wagstaff), formerly with Black Grape and the reunited Happy Mondays. Here are the dates

November
  2 - Dublin (Whelans)
  3 - Derry (Nerve Centre)
5 - Belfast (Empire Music Hall)
30 - London (The Garage)
