Gaza Strippers, back from Europe, release second album
2 October 2000

Gaza Strippers, formed by guitarist/vocalist Rick Sims after leaving underrated faux-satanic Chicago area punk trio The Didjits (he also played in Supersuckers for one record), release their second album 1,000 Watt Confessions on Berkeley indie label Lookout next week. You can pick it up on CD or vinyl.
The track listing is Outasight, Get Em Down, My Car Is, Catfight, Juvenile Detention, Newburgh Housewives, Who Can Save Me, Sex And The Drifter, Injected, Swan, Mommy Shot Daddy, Jesse Wayne, and As Long As It Feels Good.
The fun loving quartet—Mark Allen, Mike Hodgkiss, and Darren Hooper along with Sims—have just returned from a five week tour of Europe with Sub Pop band Gluecifer. Supersuckers, also on Sub Pop and on tour in Europe, intersected with the Gaza/Gluecifer show and played with them in Paris.
Back Stateside, Gaza Strippers stage a brief midwest/northeast US/Canada tour starting the 13th in Chicago.
In other record news, the Strippers will soon re-release their Electric Bible EP on Triple-X records with some bonus tracks not on the original. And you can get three previously unreleased Gaza Strippers songs on the recent Triple-X compilation The Five Fingers Of Doctor X—which also includes tracks by ex-MC5er Wayne Kramer’s band The Streetwalkin’ Cheetahs, Tricky Woo, Adz, and The Black Halos. | Gaza Strippers | | tour dates | | discography | | CD | | top of page |
