Frodus to disband after new album in February
18 October 2000
image
Washington, DC area hardcore trio Frodus are disbanding next year, but not before going out with a bang by releasing a new studio full-length described by their label as “their most prolific and experimental album to date.” Frodus’ swan song, And We Washed Our Weapons In The Sea, was recorded by producer Brian McTernan (Cave-In, The Explosion, Snapcase). It’s due 20 February 2001.
For this, their third LP, the band—Shelby Cinca (vocals & guitar, also in The Cassettes), Nathan Burke (bass & vocals, also in The Art Of Invisible), Jason Hamacher (drums, also in Combat Wounded Veteran)—have moved from Tooth & Nail Records to Gainesville, Florida’s Fueled By Ramen. FBR will be holding a Frodus contest closer to the time of the release. The first 1,000 people to order the album get a Frodus head/logo stencil. Do your worst and send a photo back to the label. All entrants get a sampler CD, while the winner gets “the largest FBR prize pack ever full of god knows what.” We’ll provide more details as the contest nears. | Frodus (coming soon) | | Frodus on Outersound | | Fueled By Ramen | | Explosions (full length RealAudio) | | discography | | sample from Frodus Conglomerate International (1998) | | top of page |
