British singer/songwriter Tim Keegan’s band Departure Lounge, who recently completed a sold-out UK tour with London groovetronica trio Morcheeba, play a one-off gig at the Shepherds Bush Empire with The Magnetic Fields on 1 November. The band’s Web site has ticket info.
The Lounge then enter the studio to track their second album as such—Keegan previously recorded with Homer and then with The Homer Lounge. The new disc follows Departure Loung’s debut Out Of There, released earlier this year.
There’s a new Departure Lounge song titled Christmas Downer on the upcoming benefit album for the homeless from Scottish indie label Jeepster, due 27 November and titled It’s A Cool, Cool Christmas. Other bands on the album include (among others) Teenage Fanclub, Belle & Sebastian, Flaming Lips, Calexico, and Eels. We’ll get you more info ASAP.
Tomorrow (17 October) you can catch a special three song live acoustic set as Departure Lounge play on London station XFM. In and about London tune in to 104.9 FM. On the Internet click our link. | Departure Lounge | | XFM Webcast | | bio | | discography | | sample | | top of page |
