The Damage Manual lose Jah Wobble on eve of US tour
16 October 2000

Post-industrial UK supergroup The Damage Manual, who released their very provocative yet refreshing self-titled debut album just last month, have apparently lost bassist Jah Wobble.
In a brief statement to Rockbites, Wobble’s label 30 Hertz records said simply “Jah Wobble feels that he has gone as far as he can with The Damage Manual, and genuinely wishes them luck for the future.”
Wobble’s stint in The Damage Manual was his first collaboration with drummer Martin Atkins since the two played in John Lydon’s post-punk project Public Image Limited in the early ’80s.
The parting of ways apparently took place several weeks ago but the news comes after the confirmation of the band’s debut US tour. They’re set for nine midwest/east coast shows starting at The Intersection in Grand Rapids, Michigan this Thursday and ending at Chicago’s Double Door on the 26th. Charles Levi of My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult will sit in on bass, and Sheep on Drugs’ Lee Fraser—who played on the band’s album—will play synths. Opening on all dates except the CMJ showcase in New York city will be techno artist/producer Meg Lee Chin, whose new EP Junkies And Snakes sees release this month. | The Damage Manual | | tour dates | | bio | | discography | | sample | | top of page |
