Freeheat return to US for northeast tour
12 October 2000

Scottish rock hero Jim Reid’s new band Freeheat return to the US for a second tour on 20 October, with several dates confirmed on the east coast and in the midwest. On 21 October they play the CMJ Music Marathon at the Knitting Factory with Lupine Howl (former members of Spiritualized sans founder Jason Pierce), Sing-Sing, and Thought Industry.
Freeheat was originally conceived as TV69 nearly two years ago. They officially formed late last year with Jim Reid, Ben Lurie, and Nick Sanderson of The Jesus And Mary Chain along with Romi Mori of The Gun Club. The band debuted this July in London, then staged an eight date east coast/west coast US tour.
They are still unsigned. As guitarist Ben Lurie told Rockbites recently, “We figure that we’ll go out, play some gigs, and hopefully people will come to us.” (Check our interview link).
Here are the upcoming Freeheat tour dates

October
20 - Boston (Middle East)
21 - New York city (Knitting Factory - for CMJ Music Marathon)
22 - Philadelphia (Khyber)
24 - Washington, DC (Metro Cafe)
25 - Cleveland (Blind Lemon)
26 - Detroit (Magic Bag)
27 - Grand Rapids (Intersection)
28 - Chicago (Schubas)
