Gwenmars sign with SeeThru Broadcasting for 2nd LP

Los Angeles pop/rock trio Gwenmars—founder and front man Mike Thrasher, drummer John Boutin, bassist Matt Westfield—recently signed to Dave Sardy’s new artist centric label SeeThru Broadcasting. The band join a small and eclectic, but expanding, roster that includes Starlight Mints, Enon, Mike G, Radar Bros., and John Stuart Mill. Sardy, former vocalist and producer with hardcore act Barkmarket, has worked recently with The Dandy Warhols and Marilyn Manson.
    Rockbites has just learned that SeeThru will release Gwenmars’ second album Driving A Million on 13 March 2001. The tracks are Neon Tom, She Hung The Moon, Radio Gun, Venus, Come Here, Hurry Up, Train Song, Electro, Strawberry Ice, Lisa Candy, and The Race. You can download the first two tracks as free MP3s now from the label Web site. And you can still pick up Gwenmars’ debut album Magnosheen and their self titled EP from the band’s site, although they’re tough to find elsewhere.
    Gwenmars, who played four nights in Tokyo in September, start a brief western US tour 4 December with a free show at The Viper Room in LA—call 323-883-9666 to put your name on the guest list. Here are the tour dates
