Berlins City Slang announces Free MP3 club 3 November 2000 For November 2000 its an acoustic version of Crystal Frontier by Tuscon based Calexico (Joey Burns and John Convertino from Giant Sand), a song based on the novel of the same name by Carlos Fuentes. The label says theyll limit downloads each month to the first 3,000 who tryand previous months tracks will not be available. As for reposting of the tracks on Napster, City Slang freely acknowledges it will happen but invites club members to be 'one of the chosen few' who can be first to post. Addressing Napster Inc. directly, City Slangs blurb gives the company an unceremonious if amusing 'fuck off.' The next three free MP3s will be from Death Cab For Cutie, Empire State, and Jen Wood. | City Slang records | | top of page | |
