Faust release limited edition box set
29 November 2000

Hamburg, Germany ’70s experimentalists Faust, who resurfaced eight years ago and have put out albums sporadically since, released this month a limited edition 5 CD box set containing their first four albums plus a CD with their BBC/John Peel Session as well as previously unreleased material.
Faust, building on the early Krautrock of bands like Amon Düül II and Can, blew past the borders of rock thirty years ago with a creative experimentalism that has inspired bands from Einstürzende Neubaten to Throbbing Gristle to Godspeed You Black Emperor!, Tortoise, and The Dead C.
Titled 1971-1973: The Wumme Years, the new box set includes a 40 page booklet with previously unpublished photos, film stills, and interviews. It’s limited to a pressing of 3,000 and while the individual CDs will remain available separately, the booklet will not. | Faust fan site | | Wumme Years on Amazon UK | | Faust CDs on Midheaven | | bio | | discography | | sample from Faust IV | | top of page |
