BBC Radio 1’s One World series presents at the end of this month a live two hour special featuring bands from Berlin label City Slang’s roster. Featured will be Calexico (Joey Burns and John Convertino from Arizona’s Giant Sand), Kurt Wagner (from alt country Nashville band Lambchop), and German technoise artist Schneider TM. Berlin ambient/techno trio To Rococo Rot will provide a DJ mix for the show.
City Slang tells us that the live special will conclude with a collaboration featuring Calexico, Kurt Wagner, and Giant Sand singer/songwriter Howe Gelb.
The show airs Friday 1 December starting 00:00 GMT—that’s Thursday night at midnight for Brits and Europeans. For North America’s east coast the start time is 7 pm EST Thursday. All can listen over the Web. | Giant Sand | | BBC Radio 1 Web feed | | BBC Radio 1 | | bio | | discography | | sample from Calexico's The Hot Rail | | top of page |
