Ennio Morricone reissues classic soundtrack albums
15 November 2000

72 year old Italian soundtrack composer Ennio Morricone, whose work has influenced countless contemporary artists—Sad Rockets, Godspeed You Black Emperor!, Hungry Ghosts, Thinking Fellers Union Local 282, Plone, Broadcast, and International Airport to name a few—reissued two classic albums this week on CD and vinyl on the Dagored label.
Gli Occi Freddi Della Paura is the soundtrack from a 1971 erotic thriller featuring Gruppo Di Improvvisazione Nuova Consonanza. It has been described as that band’s best work.
Slalom is the complete soundtrack to the 1965 Italian spy movie of that name, with tracks ranging from surf to suspense to Arabian to guitar pop.
Both are available now directly from Midheaven mailorder, along with seven other Morricone albums. CDnow and Amazon have more extensive catalogs available, but not these two albums. | Morricone discs from Midheaven | | bio | | discography | | sample from Cinema Concerto at Santa Cecilla | | top of page |
