Acetone ready fourth album for January
14 November 2000

Los Angeles low fi/minimalist alt folk trio Acetone release their fourth album York Blvd. on 16 January, pushed back from last month’s original date. It’s their second LP for Santa Monica, California’s Vapor Records and, belying a loyal cult following, just the fourth in their 13 year career—some four years on from 1997’s eponymous release.
The band—Richie Lee (vocals, bass), Mark Lightcap (guitar, vocals), and Steve Hadley (drums)—formed while at the California Institute of the Arts in Valencia, drawing inspiration from Gram Parsons, The Beach Boys, and The Velvet Underground.
Acetone recorded the upcoming ten track set with veteran producer Eric Sarafin (Ben Harper, Ice-T, The Pharcyde, Brand New Heavies). Tracks are Things Are Gonna Be Alright, Wonderful World, 19, Vibrato, Like I Told You, It's A Lie, Bonds, One Drop, Vaccination, and Stray. No touring plans yet. | Fan site | | All You Know (full length MP3) | | bio | | discography | | sample from self titled (1997) | | CD | | top of page |
