Roskilde festival delays ticket sales for next year 10 November 2000 Organizers for the annual Danish charity benefit festival held each summer in Roskilde west of Copenhagen announced today that they will delay the start of ticket sales for the 2001 event until 1 December. This year’s festival achieved massive, macabre publicity when nine concertgoers were tragically crushed and suffocated in the mud in front of the main stage on 30 June. Attendees and other fans are still posting condolences daily on a message board set up on the Roskilde Web site. Today’s brief statement said simply that organizers want to clarify the 'practical elements' of the event prior to announcing ticket availability.
