Silver Jews David Bermans advice to grads 5 May 2000 Berman says his address to the graduates will revolve around three points: "Sleep on your back, ash in your shoes, and always use the old sense of the word...." He released his first book of poetry in 1999, Actual Air, to widespread acclaim. On the musical front he recently replaced all the members in his band, and sacked (so he says) longtime collaborator and Pavement front man Steven Malkmus. (Malkmus has coincidentally also dropped Pavement for the foreseeable future.) Berman is writing songs for a new Silver Jews album tentatively titled Bright Flight, due later this year. | Silver Jews (unofficial) | | bio | | discography | | sample from American Water | | top of page | |
