Johnny Marr and the Healers debut in Coventry 24 May 2000 Former Smiths and Electronic guitarist Johnny Marr will showcase his new band The Healers at a tiny club in Coventry this Saturday. The six piece (members are still a secret) will perform at The Colloseum on Primrose Hill Street, capacity 250. A spokesperson confirmed that ex Kula Shaker bassist Alonso Bevan will play, but rumors that Zak Starkey (son of Ringo) is in the band remain rumors. Marr played in February with an early incarnation of the Healers at a Bolton show supporting Oasis, but the upcoming Coventry show is the bands proper debut. They have not announced further dates, but a posting on jmarr.com claims theyll play Japans Fuji Rock Festival on 29 July. The band recorded an LP in 1999 but are still in search of a label. | NME story | | Johnny Marr | | top of page | |
