Eels announce North American tour dates 19 May 2000
Mark Oliver Everett’s off-kilter pop act Eels have announced a two week North American tour starting 12 June at the Garage in Washington, DC. They’ll appear on CBS television’s Late Night With David Letterman on 22 June. Eels’ excellent new album Daisies Of The Galaxy suspends deeply affecting lyrics in a setting of disarmingly cheery music. This time ’round the band consists of multi-instrumentalist and singer Everett (a.k.a. E) and drummer Butch. Guest artists include Grant Lee Phillips, Jim Lang, and R.E.M.’s Peter Buck.
