Farm Aid 2000 on schedule for September
19 May 2000
The 15th annual Farm Aid benefit concert takes place 17 September at the Nissan Pavillion in Bristow, Virginia, near Manassas and west of Washington, DC. Founders Willie Nelson, John Mellencamp, and Neil Young will all play.
The three musicians began Farm Aid in 1985 “...to raise public awareness about the plight of the American family farmer and to provide assistance to those families whose livelihoods depend on agriculture.” Last year’s sold out concert brought Farm Aid’s total contribution to US independent farmers to more than US$15 million.
Tickets for Farm Aid typically go on sale in July. | Billboard story | | Farm Aid | | top of page |
