Lou Reed takes Ecstasy on road

American rock and roll artisan Lou Reed, one time front man for the legendary Velvet Undergound, plays a pair of dates this Thursday and Friday at London’s Royal Albert Hall. Then on 2 June he kicks off a three week North American tour at Benaroya Hall in Seattle.
Reed is supporting his new album Ecstasy—which, in what Rockbites considers to be a global case of just not getting it—peaked at number 183 on the Billboard 200 in April following very mixed reviews.
Reed has confirmed for the annual Roskilde festival in Denmark, his first appearance there in 16 years. The event takes place 29 June through 2 July and features seven stages and 160 bands. All profits from the musical/political event go to humanitarian and cultural charities and projects.
