Nick Drake LPs to be reissued in June
12 May 2000

All three studio albums recorded by highly influential English singer/songwriter Nick Drake in the late ’60s and early ’70s will be reissued next month by Island Records. The label has set UK release for 19 June, but hasn’t announced a US release schedule. The new versions will feature original artwork plus extensive new liner notes.
Last September saw the 30th anniversary of the release of Drake’s debut album Five Leaves Left, and a tribute concert in London as part of the three-day English Originals Festival.
Drake, born in Burma, died in 1974 at age 26 after releasing only three albums. His mythology and musical influence have grown over the years, following an obscure life. | NME story | | discography | | sample from Five Leaves Left | | top of page |
