Julian Cope to stage two day mini festival in London
8 March 2000
Welsh psychedelic pop artist Julian Cope returns to the stage for the first time in over two years on 1 April, as he stages a two day multimedia event at London’s South Bank Centre.
Dubbed the Cornucopea Festival, day one includes performances by Anal, Kid Strange (ex Doctors Of Madness), The Universal Panzies, The Groundhogs, Skyray, Cope’s new bands Queen Elizabeth and Braindoner, and a solo performance by Cope.
Day two includes a reunion performance by ’70s krautrockers Ash Ra Temple including Klaus Shultze and Manuel Gottsching—their first time together on stage in 25 years. Other performers for day two include Coil and Cope.
All attendees will receive a CD program. You can purchase tickets on the venue’s Web site or by calling 0171 960 4242. | NME story | | Performance tickets | | discography | | sample from Floored Genius 2—Best Of The BBC Sessions | | top of page |
