Giant Sand release Chore Of Enchantment 6 March 2000 According to founder and front man Howe Gelb, the first Giant Sand album in three years is a mix of slow burning hot buttery Memphis moistness with the crispy quiet crackle of Tucson thirsty-ness. An attempt to serve up a saucer full of hitherto unpredictable predictablilites as opposed to the usual platters of predictable unpredictablilites. Guests on the 16 track set include Juliana Hatfield, Evan Dando (The Lemonheads), guitarist Kevin Salem (ex Dumptruck), and others. Chore Of Enchantment is out this week in the US on Thrill Jockey. The band will play on the 17th at this years South By Southwest (SXSW) film and music festival in Austin. Gelb will play in his other band, Calexico, at this summers Roskilde festival in Denmark. | discography | | sample from The Love Songs | | CD | | top of page | |
