Teenage Fanclub finish album, lose drummer, seek label
29 March 2000

Glasgow pop band Teenage Fanclub have lost their drummer on the heels of completing their not yet titled seventh album. Paul Quinn, ex Soup Dragons, joined the band in 1994 and played on Grand Prix and Songs From Northern Britain. Front man Norman Blake told Music365 that the split was amicable.
The band are in search of a label, having been let go by Sony when they completed their takeover of indie label Creation last year. Manager Chas Banks told Music365 he expects Sony will write them a new contract—and if they don’t, “there's a very long queue waiting to snap them up.” Banks is extremely enthusiastic about the new album, comparing it to no less than Abbey Road by the Beatles. | Music365 story | | Teenage Fanclub | | bio | | discography | | sample from Grand Prix | | top of page |
