Alec Empire describes his collaboration with Björk 23 March 2000 Atari Teenage Riots Alec Empire spoke with nme.com about his forthcoming collaboration with Icelandic singer/songwriter and ex Sugarcubes singer Björk (Björk Gudmundsdóttir). Still without a label deal the unlikely pair have mostly completed four tracks along with the Brodsky string quartet: April, Five Years, Sod Off, and Yoga. They hope to release the set as an EP this year. Empire told NME Its been planned since last summer and now I want to nail it down over the next two or three weeks. It was crazy because the last European tour and the problems we had with the band, everything got so fucked up that I couldnt finish it... Theres so much stuff going on with the strings and Björks very powerful voice, the main thing is to find a balance. | NME story | | discography | | sample from Homogenic | | top of page | |
