Soul Coughing disband after eight years
21 March 2000
New York alt rock quartet Soul Coughing have disbanded, according to a press statement. The members are each now committed to other projects including new studio and soundtrack albums.
The band’s final album is 1998’s El Oso, their third, which followed Irresistible Bliss after a hiatus of four years.
Keyboards player Mark DeGliAntoni is in the studio with his band Horse Tricks and is composing the soundtrack for an IMAX film. Drummer Yuval Gabay and bassist Sebastian Steinberg will stick together as the drum ’n’ bass duo UV Ray. Front man M. Doughty, a former music critic, has been writing for the New York Press weekly. He’s also working on a solo LP. | Billboard story | | bio | | discography | | sample | | top of page |
