The Cure to disband after 24 years 2 March 2000 Speaking to Reuters news service this week, The Cures front man and sole remaining original member Robert Smith said I just feel that it would be good to stop while were still good. I dont really want to taint the legacy of what Ive done with the first 20 years of my adult life by continuing on [just] because thats what I do. And also, I think if I dont try something else now, I never will. The Cures Bloodflowers, released last month, is the final album in a trilogy that includes 1982s Pornography and 1989s Disintegration. The band begin a European tour, potentially their last, on 27 March at the Riviera in Madrid. | Wall of Sound story | | discography | | sample | | CD | | top of page | |
