Super Furry Animals reveal tracks for Welsh LP 1 March 2000 The fourth album by psychedelicists Super Furry Animals will be sung entirely in Welsh. Titled Mwng, SFA release the LP on 1 May in the UK through their own Placid Casual imprint. Front man Gruff Rhys explained to nme.com Mwng means 'mane.' No specific animal in mind, but I suppose its an extension of a Super Furry Animal, something that keeps you warm, because its a winter album. But were releasing it on the first of May. The tracks, with translations provided by nme.com, are Drygioni (Badness), Ymaelodi Ar Ymylon (Joining The Periphery or Banished To The Periphery), Y Gwyneb Iau (Liverface), Dacw Hi (There She Is), Nythod Cacwn (Beehives), Pan Ddawr Wawr (When Dawn Breaks), Ysbeidiau Heulog (Sunny Intervals), Y Teimlad (The Feeling), Sarn Helen Gwreiddiau Dwfn (Deep Roots) and Mawrth Oer Ar Y Blaned Neifion (A Cold Mars On Neptune). SFA are slated to headline Englands All Tomorrows Parties festival on 7 April, which is sold out. | NME story | | All Tomorrow's Parties | | discography | | sample | | top of page | |
