Minimalist/existentalist singer/songwriter Mirah released her debut album today on K Records—You Think It’s Like This But Really It’s Like This. She recorded the set to 4 track at Olympia’s Dub Narcotic studios with producer and multi-instrumentalist Phil Elvrum (of D+). While it’s her first widely available disc, she put out a cassette last year titled Parts Of Human Desire, and a 12" on YoYo Recordings titled Storageland.
So far You Think... is out in the US only. The label has not announced plans for worldwide distribution.
On Saturday 10 June Mirah plays a benefit showcase at The Breakroom in Seattle along with Dub Narcotic Sound System, IQU, and Yume Bitsu. The show starts at 4 pm and will benefit JAMPAC, the Joint Artists and Music Promotions Political Action Committee founded by former Nirvana bassist Krist Novoselic. | Mirah | | discography | | sample | | CD | | top of page |
