Starlight Mints play NYC Knitting Factory
27 June 2000

Norman, Oklahoma’s answer to Glasgow’s genre dyslexic The Beta Band, the truly twisted Starlight Mints, perform at New York city’s Knitting Factory on 7 July opening for Wheat and Jack Drag. The former seven-piece, now a quintet, release their debut album The Dream That Stuff Was Made Of on 22 August on See Thru Broadcasting records.
Drummer Andy Nunez said “...we were trying to write traditional, catchy pop songs, but because Allan [Vest, the band’s primary songsmith] is kind of skewed—and I guess I am too—things just came out strange.”
The band are planning a full US tour for August and September. We’ll get you dates as soon as we know ’em. | See Thru Broadcasting | | Submarine #3 (full length sample) | | bio | | top of page |
