First annual Latin Alternative Music Conference 2 June 2000 The first annual Latin Alternative Music Conference, presented by ArtistDirect.com, takes place 13-15 August at the New York city Hilton. The event hopes to broaden awareness of latin genres and artists outside the glare of such acts as Ricky Martin and Jennifer Lopez. Beyond discussion panels and keynotes, the LAMC features several live events including a pre-conference show in Central Park on 12 August featuring La Ley, Los Amigos Invisibles, and Illya Kuryaki & The Valerramas; a Watcha Tour/Warped Tour showcase concert at Irving Plaza on 14 August, and La Banda Elastica Magazine awards show—for the first time in NYC—on 15 August. | LAMC | | top of page | |
