Stereolab release 6-track mini album
2 June 2000

Laetitia Sadier and Tim Gane’s free spirited London electropop sextet Stereolab, who have built a career defining and extending their own musical genre, released a new album to minimal fanfare last month titled The First Of The Microbe Hunters. The six track, 40 minute set features prominent guitar work by Gane and plenty of the high energy for which their live shows are famous. It’s available on vinyl and CD in the UK, and on CD only in the US.
Microbe Hunters follows by less than a year the band’s 75 minute, jazz-heavy Cobra And Phases Group Play Voltage In The Milky Night, a New Musical Express top 50 LP for 1999. On their current tour they’re showcasing several new songs, presumably from a forthcoming album
Stereolab continue their US tour this Saturday with a show at New York city’s Battery Park, and continue through 24 June with a closer at The Ritz in Raleigh, North Carolina. | Stereolab | | tour dates | | discography | | sample | | CD | | top of page |
