Peter Gabriel to release comeback of sorts 2 June 2000 Titled Ovo, the album features music debuted during Gabriels millennium eve show at Londons Millennium Dome. Tracks on the disc include collaboration with and guest appearances by architect/producer Mark Fisher, Cocteau Twins vocalist Elizabeth Fraser, American singer/songwriter Richie Havens, members of The Blue Nile, the Black Dyke Band, and others. Gabriel wrote about the set It layers Asian, African, Middle Eastern, Australian and European elements against a mostly contemporary British backdrop. From 12th century hurdy gurdy to didgeridoo, from the pulsing rhythms of the Dhol Foundation and the nostalgic brass of the Black Dyke Band, from Arab laments over drum and bass to meditative moments with string sectionthe soundtrack is a really eclectic mix.
