16 June 2000

London ambient pop trio Trembling Blue Stars (the name was lifted from Pauline Réage’s sadomasochistic novel The Story Of O) released their third album, and their first on an American label (Sub Pop), in March: Broken By Whispers. Now they’re reissuing their first two LPs, Her Handwriting and Lips That Taste Of Tears, both available this week from Midheaven Mailorder and Insound. Other outlets including CDnow and Amazon will have them soon.
Trembling Blue Stars comprise guitarist/songwriter Robert Wratten, bass player Michael Hiscock, and vocalist/keyboards player Annemari Davies, all formerly of The Field Mice and Northern Picture Library.
According to the band’s UK label Shinkansen (formerly Sarah), the band are confirmed to play the Emmaboda Festival in Sweden on 12 August with Harvey Williams helping out on guitar. | TBS on Sub Pop | | TBS on Shinkansen | | discography | | sample from Broken By Whispers | | CD | | top of page |
